MEETING TIME AND PLACE:

All treks meet daily at 9:15 a.m. Morning departures assure the best snow conditions for the dogs. Meet the Guides at the Absaroka Dogsled office located on the premises of Chico Hot Springs between the Horse Barn and the Gift Shop.

SAFETY:

We provide quality equipment with traditional wooden sleds, each handcrafted from white ash. For those with physical challenges, we offer toboggan sleds which provide easier access. To ensure optimum safety of our guests, Guides are trained in First Aid & CPR. A 10-15 minute "Mushing 101" instruction class is given to all guests prior to hitting the trail. Afterwards, our Guides will transport you to and from the trailhead. Meet our guides.

ATTIRE:

Wear warm and waterproof clothing as if you were going skiing or snowmobiling. Dress in layers wearing warm clothing next to the skin and waterproof clothing as the outer layers. Include a hat and gloves. Snow boots that are insulated and rise above the ankle are required. Our outfit provides snow boots and outer apparel at no additional charge. Hand warmers are available at a nominal charge. Our Guides will make sure you are properly outfitted to assure you are warm and comfortable while on trail.
